Before this class I just thought of blogs as vlogs just typed up, which it technically is but I guess there's more to it. I never questioned or thought about them but blogs are actually a great way to state types of interests, hobbies, and just your life. After looking through different blogs I discovered three I would like to talk about which are: TMZ, Hip-Hop Wired, and Apartment therapy.
Starting off I'm going to talk about TMZ. I've always seen TMZ everywhere but I never thought of it as a blog. TMZ focuses their blogs on news about celebrities lives, new things in the world occurring and things people would want to hear. In my opinion this blog isn't really helpful and I dislike it because I don't care about what "scandals" or "drama" is going on in famous people's lives.
The second blog I read through was Hip-Hop Wired. This blog was my personal favorite because it's ALL about hip-hop music which is one of my favorite genres. This blog goes through singers and their new songs, albums features and etc. Like TMZ, HIP-Hop Wired does talk a little about the celebrities situations but ones only concerning the music. I think this blog is a good place for people to find new artists to listen to and to be updated daily on new things dropping.
Apartment Therapy was the last blog I read and I really enjoyed the aesthetic of it. I find this blog really helpful for people who are settling into a new living space. As someone who likes to be organized and make things look straight off of Pinterest this blog helps give a lot of ideas. Apartment Therapy is very different from TMZ and Hip-Hop Wired, this blog is more the lifestyle type of information like many others out there.
Now that I researched and went through a few blogs, I kind of understand it. Blogging does seem like a fun hobby if you like talking about your interests and many other things. I hope y'all enjoyed my blog about blogs looking forward to read others. 😊

I agree with your comments on TMZ I feel as if we are too parasocial towards celebrities lives and that it shouldn't matter what drama happened to a certain celebrity I feel as if it's too dehumanizing for them and for us too put them on such a high pedestal.
ReplyDeleteI never thought of TMZ as a blog either! And I agree, TMZ seems to overstep in celebrities lives in harmful ways.
